More than 20 high school players from across Northeast Florida earned selection to the Florida Athletic Coaches Association’s all-state squads.
Class 3A girls runner-up Stanton led all area programs with eight selections: goalkeeper Lauryn Ann Harold, defenders Alex King, Camille Prosswimmer and Lindsay Schmitt, midfielders Alyssa Mahar and Christina Rushing and forwards Imani Ashman and Madelyn Debski.
Menendez goalkeeper Alana Shew-A-Tjon and midfielder Emma Voigt earned selection after the Falcons reached the playoffs for the first time in school history, while junior midfielder Piper Dotsikas represented regional semifinalist Ponte Vedra.
Episcopal midfielders Katie Ralys and Meg Van Cleve were selected in Class 2A, along with Bishop Snyder freshman striker Chloe Iuliano.
In Class 4A, Creekside midfielder Sophia Thompson, Nease goalkeeper Brittney Jabot, Bartram Trail wingback Tori Grambo and Bartram Trail defender Taylor Radecki all made the all-state squad from St. Johns County, along with Atlantic Coast’s Danielle Gordon and Adin Besser.
On the boys teams, the Mandarin duo of midfielder Ammar Bektic and goalkeeper Nick Glover earned spots on the Class 5A squad, and Darren Brock and Brock Edge of Columbia were selected in Class 4A.
