Logan Sowell of Kershaw, S.C., was the only player to match par on a cold, windy day at the Hidden Hills Country Club, and the College of Charleston player grabbed a two-shot lead in the first round of the JAGA First Coast Amateur.

Sowell had three birdies and three bogeys and leads four players at 2-over, College of Charleston teammate Michael Sass, Florida State player Jonathan Keppler, South Florida player Andre Leveque and Cole Bradley of West Lafayette, Ind.

There were only 73 birdies, 462 bogeys and 113 scores of double-bogey or higher in the first round.
