Jaguars WR Ace Sanders plays Santa, surprises mom with house

Posted: December 20, 2013 - 2:02am  |  Updated: December 22, 2013 - 1:59pm

Christmas came early for the mother of Jaguars rookie receiver Ace Sanders on Thursday.

After practice, Sanders used Twitter to tell his 25,000 followers that he had purchased a home for his mom, Twanda.

Via @AceSanders1 – he wrote: “Mama just called me in tears! She was handed the keys to her new house!!! Merry Christmas Mama! I love that woman to death! #madeherday”

Sanders’ message was re-tweeted nearly 2,800 times in the few hours after it was posted.

Sanders was drafted in the fourth round by the Jaguars last April and signed a four-year, $2.64 million contract that included a $481,448 signing bonus.

He has played in 13 games this year and is second on the team with 41 catches. In last week’s loss to Buffalo, Sanders made his first NFL touchdown catch.

I wonder if the house he

I wonder if the house he bought for her is in Jax. More and more X-Jags settle here after their NFL career which I think is great.

Ace seems like a good kid...

Ace seems like a good kid... Glad he did that for his mother. He gives me the impression that he'll make us proud to have him here... I was very pleased with the draft selection...
