The skinny: Coming off a decisive win over rival Florida, Florida State can start 8-0 for the first time since the 2003-04 season with a victory over one-win Loyola. … The Seminoles looked stronger, more athletic and more physical than the Gators, a surprising development considering Florida State lost top players Jonathan Isaac, Dwayne Bacon and Xavier Rathan-Mayes from last year’s squad. … Terance Mann had a career-high 25 points and continues to look much improved for the Seminoles, who play two neutral-site games and have a pair of home matchups before opening ACC play at Duke on Dec. 30. … Five different players have scored at least 20 points in a game this season for Loyola. Florida State will need to be especially aware of Cam Gregory. The 6-foot-8 forward is 10th in the country in offensive rebounds at four per game. … The Seminoles won the only previous meeting between the two programs 89-72 in November 1997.
