Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm and Florida running back Malik Davis among the players named to the SEC’s All-Freshman team, released on Thursday after a vote of the league’s coaches.
Fromm threw for 2,173 yards, 21 touchdowns and only five interceptions after replacing the injured Jacob Eason in the opening game of the season. Davis gained 526 yards and scored twice in seven games before going out for the season with an injury.
Also making the team was Georgia running back D’Andrew Swift (597 yards) and the right side of the Bulldogs’ offensive line, guard Solomon Kindley and tackle Andrew Thomas.
Florida defensive backs C.J. Henderson and Marco Wilson joined Davis on the team. Henderson had four interceptions, returning two for touchdowns, and Wilson led all SEC freshmen and was third in the nation among freshmen with 10 pass break-ups.
