When Florida Gators fans flipped the page on their 2014 wall calendar today, some may have been surprised to find an action shot of an accused murderer.

Aaron Hernandez, the former Gator and New England Patriots tight end, is Mr. July, pictured wearing his No. 81 jersey and carrying the pigskin.

A photo of the calendar spread popped up on social media and websites Tuesday.

In addition to pleading not guilty to murder in the 2013 death of Odin Lloyd, Hernandez has also been indicted in the drive-by shooting deaths of two other men in a 2012 Boston case.

The inclusion of Hernandez in the calendar that features "College Alumni Players Tim Tebow, Brandon Spikes and Percy Harvin!" is the result of a production schedule, not an oversight, according to two tweets Monday by the Florida Gators' official twitter account, @GatorZoneFB:

The 16-month calendar by Turner Licensing was released nearly a year ago. Lloyd was killed June 17, 2013.

Websites, including Deadspin, that reported Hernadez's inclusion as "Mr. July," linked to the calendar on Target's website. But by Tuesday evening, however, the calendar had been removed.

It is, however, still available for a discounted price of $6.39 on calendars.com.
