The Jacksonville Sharks forced four turnovers, including a 48-yard interception return for a touchdown midway in the fourth quarter by Terrance Smith, to break a three-game losing streak, winning 68-48 over the Barnstormers on Saturday night in Des Moines, Iowa.

R.J. Archer threw for 301 yards and eight touchdown passes, and the Sharks overcame the missing four extra-point attempts to break a three-game losing streak.

Smith had another fourth-quarter interception that kept the Barnstormers (4-4) off the field.

Both Iowa quarterbacks — Carson Coffman and Brian Reader — were knocked out by injuries in the fourth quarter, forcing Iowa to use wide receiver Darius Reynolds to finish the game. He was penalized for intentional grounding with less than a minute to play to wrap up the victory for Jacksonville (3-5).

Archer’s favorite target was wide receiver London Crawford, who caught nine passes for 130 yards and four touchdowns.

Jeron Harvey caught two TD passes, as did Jomo Wilson in the victory.

Jacksonville returns to Veterans Memorial Arena next Saturday to play AFC South rival Orlando.
