Sarah Emily Hieb and Kenan Whitaker Yount were married Aug. 6, 2016, at Christ Episcopal Church in Charlottesville, Va. G. Willis Logan, a friend of the couple, officiated the ceremony.
Sarah is the daughter of Chris and E. Allen Hieb Jr. of Jacksonville. She is a graduate of The Bolles School, and Mercer University with a degree in nursing. She is pursuing a degree in nurse anesthesia at Georgetown University.
Kenan is the son of Avis and Peter Yount of Augusta, Ga. He is a graduate of Augusta Preparatory Day School, Darmouth College with a degree in economics, the University of Virginia School of Medicine and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. He is a fellow in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Virginia.
Avalee Jenkins DeLay of Dalton, Ga., was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Danielle Nicole Bahri of Atlanta; Mary Catherine Burton of Columbia, S.C.; Locke Victoria Blue Hughes of Atlanta; Alison Johnson Hieb of Indianapolis, sister-in- law of the bride; Lindsay Yount King of Durham, N.C,. sister of the groom; Meaghan Renee Young of Charlottesville, Va; and Ambar Hortensia Zaatar of Brooklyn, N.Y. The flower girl was Miss Adelaide Miles King of Durham, N.C., niece of the groom.
Peter Shuford Yount, father of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Amir Allak of Charlottesville, Va; Matthew Allen Hieb of Indianapolis, brother of the bride; Clark David Kensinger, of Nashville: Thomas Gray King of Durham, N.C. brother-in-law of the groom: Stephen Joseph Reyes of Charleston, S.C.; Ted Samarjit Samaddar of Charleston, S.C., and Paul Griffis Trotter of Augusta, Ga. Ushers were Jeremiah Michael Daly II of Boston; Hisaaki Lawrence Kobayashi of Newington, Conn.; and Anthony Demetrios Papadopoulos of Mount Pleasant, S.C. The reader was William Cook Palmer of Ponte Vedra Beach.
The rehearsal dinner was held at Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards. Following the wedding ceremony a reception was held at Farmington Country Club. The newlyweds honeymooned in Los Cabos, Mexico. They reside in Charlottesville, Va.
Michelle Charko and Eric Mathis, both of Alexandria, Va., were married Nov. 12, 2016, in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
The bride is the daughter of Deborah and Stephen Charko of Jacksonville. She graduated from Bishop Kenny High School, the University of North Florida with a bachelor of science in athletic training and the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences with a doctorate of physical therapy. Michelle is employed by Washington Wellness Physical Therapy as a physical therapist.
The groom is the son of Karen and E. McRae Mathis of Jacksonville. He graduated from Bishop Kenny High School, Hendrix College with a bachelor of arts in allied health and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a master of science in athletic training. Eric is employed by Fairfax County Public Schools as an athletic trainer.
Stephanie Thomas, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Aaron Gankofskie, friend of the groom, was the best man.
The couple lives in Alexandria, Va.
Britney Popp of Atlantic Beach and Jeremy Barrow of Ponte Vedra were married March 18 at Beach Church in Jacksonville Beach.
The bride is the daughter of Brenda and Mark Popp of Atlantic Beach. She graduated from Fletcher High School, the University of North Florida with a degree in chemistry and Barry University with a physician assistant degree. Britney is employed by Wolfson Children’s Hospital as a physician assistant in neurosurgery.
The groom is the son of Lynda and Doug Barrow of Ponte Vedra Beach. He graduated from Bishop Kenny High School and Texas A&M in Galveston with a degree in maritime transportation. Jeremy is employed by BR Surgical as director of operations.
Shelly Popp, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Jordan Barrow, brother of the groom, was the best man. Aubyn Bell, a friend of the couple, was the bridesmaid. Doug Riley, a friend of the couple, was the groomsman. Following a trip to Spain, the couple will live in Ponte Vedra Beach.
