Play dodgeball? Benefit tournament to be held in Jacksonville for area Boys & Girls Clubs

Team registration is under way for an Aug. 23 dodgeball tournament staged by Club Blue, a group of young professionals that supports the Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Florida.

Sixteen teams of five players each will compete for prizes. The event will be held at 1 p.m. at the NFL YET Boys & Girls Club, 555 W. 25th St., in Jacksonville’s Springfield community.

The $50 per-team fee must be received by Aug. 15. Individuals who want to play but do not have a team will be placed with other individual players and pay a $10 fee.

Club Blue was formed for individuals and couples age 35 and under who are new to the area and want to network and support a nonprofit. The group holds periodic socials and two fundraisers a year.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida provide diversified educational and sports activities to about 1,500 youth after school and during the summer. The nonprofit has 14 locations in Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties.
