Police are seeking the public’s help in tracking down a man for questioning in an Oct. 29 shooting at the Westside Pool Hall at 7597 103rd St. where another patron was shot multiple times, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police have released two images of the man wearing a knit Florida cap.

The shooting occurred just before 10 p.m. at the pool hall when witnesses saw two young men in a corner watching others play pool, according to the report. One of them, wearing a backpack, asked a woman for a cigarette, then kept moving closer to her table. The man tried to steal her wallet but was grabbed by the victim, the report said.

The man pulled out a gun and shot the 27-year-old who was holding him down. The victim refused to let the gunman go. So the gunman asked for help from his friend, who kicked the 27-year-old in the head and tried to run out the door, according to the report. The woman tried to stop the second man, but she was kicked as he fled with the gunman, both last seen headed down Ricker Road.

The victim had three bullet wounds to his right side, while police said the gunman left his backpack in the pool hall.
