A 22-year-old Jacksonville man and known gang member was sentenced to 12 years and six months in federal prison for sex trafficking a child, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Antwan DeShawn Harper, also known as “Pappy,” also was ordered to serve a five-year term of supervision after his prison release and to register as a sex offender, according to the sentence handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Marcia Morales Howard. He pleaded guilty Nov. 10, prosecutors said.

According to court documents, Harper met a 15-year-old girl in December 2015 and advertised her for prostitution on the internet. He accepted payment for the girl to perform sexual acts with his friends and fellow members of the PYC street gang, which he is a member, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
