A 60-year-old East Palatka man is behind bars after 99 plants estimated at a $275,000 street value were found growing in a home on Michelle Avenue, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
Peter James Vammen was charged Wednesday with producing marijuana and possession of marijuana and drug equipment, according to jail records.
Investigators went to Vammen’s East Palatka home in response to an anonymous tip of an indoor marijuana grow, according to the Sheriff’s Office. They met Vammen, who allowed them to search his house. They found 99 marijuana plants growing in two rooms, along with processed marijuana and drug paraphernalia, the Sheriff’s Office said.
