Afterschool GPS for parents will help locate activities for students in Duval

Posted: July 31, 2014 - 11:19pm

Parents can get GPS help finding after-school programs near them.

The Jacksonville Children’s Commission and the city’s Information Technology Geographical Information Systems group created an online Afterschool Program Locator Tool. The website uses map-based software; families enter an address or select an area by ZIP code or council district. The tool generates a map and list of locations and allows users to click an icon to learn more about the after-school programs provided by the children’s commission. JCC will provide after-school programs to approximately 9,500 Duval County children this coming school year through TEAM UP school-based programs and community-based programs in community centers and nonprofit organizations.
