Police have released the identity of a man shot and killed Tuesday in an argument on Jacksonville’s Northside.
Officers responding to a shooting at Moose and New Berlin roads about 5:40 p.m. found Cecil Dale Scalf, 54, of Grover Road lying in the street with gunshot wounds.
Police said three men met at the intersection for business reasons. They began to argue and shots were fired.
The other two men stayed at the scene, and police said it did not appear the argument was over anything illegal. No arrests have been reported, and police said no suspects are being sought. They did not name the others involved.
Family at Scalf’s home Wednesday declined to comment. Duval County court records show he does not have any felony arrests.

Fifty-seven people — 20 each from St. Johns and Flagler counties and 17 from Putnam County — have been arrested in a multi-agency drug sting after prescription drugs, cocaine, ecstasy, heroin and marijuana were bought on the street from dealers, according to law enforcement officials.
The five-month Operation Safe Summer was designed to arrest drug dealers before the summer break to keep narcotics off the streets.
It was conducted by a task force with the Putnam, St. Johns and Flagler county sheriff’s offices, the Palatka and St. Augustine Beach police departments, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
The task force targeted street-level drug dealers and what are considered gateway drugs, as well as designer drugs and heavy narcotics.
