Police have identified two men shot and killed in separate incidents during the weekend in Jacksonville.

Earl Mitchell Jones, 39, of the 2100 block of Retaw Street was shot several times by the driver of a silver sport-utility vehicle just before 4 a.m. Saturday. Police said Jones had been talking with friends outside his house when the SUV drove by and an argument started between Jones and the driver. Shots followed.

In the second shooting, police found Ian Leighton Klinedinst, 22, of the 5500 block of Alexis Forest Lane about 9:20 p.m. Sunday lying next to his vehicle in the 6100 block of North Earline Circle. Investigators said a silver vehicle was seen leaving the area after the shooting.

Police did not identify what type of vehicle was seen on Earline or if it is suspected in both cases. They have not reported any arrests.
