The Happy Grilled Cheese food truck is serving its specialty grilled cheeses at a permanent downtown location as its brick-and-mortar debuted on Aug. 30.
The nearly 30-seat location at 219 N. Hogan St. will offer signature items such as the Mac Melt, which features a grilled cheese with three cheeses, mac and cheese and grilled onions, as well as the Uncle Vinny’s Melt with mozzarella, salami, pepperoni, ham, pesto, tomato and red onion.
Owner Anthony Hashem said the menu at the brick-and-mortar will include new sandwiches, salads, seasonal and staple sides.
Manager Brittny Lowrey said the restaurant is committed to the growth of Jacksonville’s urban core.
“We are on the verge of a food scene redevelopment that is exciting and progressive,” she said citing downtown restaurants such as Bellwether, Sweet Pete’s and Kazu Sushi Burrito. “We can’t wait to see where downtown will be in five years.”
The Happy Grilled Cheese food truck will remain operational, Hashem said.
The downtown restaurant will reopen at 11 a.m on Tuesday, Sep. 5.
