Downtown Jacksonville’s Hourglass Pub & Coffee House announced it will be closing on Feb. 3.
Owner Shannon Widow wrote a post on Facebook (see post below) on Jan. 8 announcing the closure.
The post read, “The last three and a half years have been the most amazing years of my life, but not without some sacrifices and struggles. I’ve sacrificed a lot to do this and keep it going … family, money, time, friendships, and last but most health and sanity.”
She continued, “Time has come for me to take a step back and focus on me, on my family, my relationship, my future and what I really want to do.
There are bigger dreams to pursue and I’m gonna go pursue them.”
Widow has owned the Hourglass Pub & Coffee House at 345 E. Bay St. since June 2014.
The business will be open its normal hours, from 4 p.m.-2 a.m. Tuesday-Sunday and closed on Mondays.
At the end of the Facebook post, Widow said, “Thank you for everything friends. I couldn’t have done any of it without you. I have found love and acceptance and fellowship with so many of you amazing people.”
